Celebrate Liverpool clubland at the Royal Albert Dock

Liverpool’s legendary club scene is being celebrated in a new night-time projection at the Royal Albert Dock.

Visitors to the Grade I listed waterfront location can experience In Clubland: 35 Summers of Love until Friday, October 2.

The dockside façade of the Maritime Museum is being illuminated daily from 8-10pm with images from an upcoming book of the same name by acclaimed Liverpool photographer Mark McNulty.

And the projection, best viewed from vantage points around the Royal Albert Dock’s inner quay, documents people, places and moments that have shaped the city’s clubbing culture from the 1980s onwards.

Visitors between now and Saturday, September 26, can also enjoy a free silent disco-style experience, with headphones available to use in The One O’Clock Gun on which a specially curated playlist by McNulty pairs his photographs with the evocative sounds of Liverpool’s nightlife.

Meanwhile the book In Clubland is set to be published by Modern Sky this November, and in the photographer’s own words covers “some of my after-dark adventures with a camera”.

The projection In Clubland: 35 Summers of Love is at the Royal Albert Dock from 8-10pm nightly until Friday, October 2.
