Bianca Del Rio heads for Liverpool Empire in smash hit Jamie musical

RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Bianca Del Rio is set to play Loco Chanelle in Everybody's Talking About Jamie at the Liverpool Empire.

The smash hit West End musical will come to Lime Street from November 23-27.

Layton Williams will reprise his award-winning role as Jamie New while Shobna Gulati will play Ray and Amy Ellen Richardson is Jamie’s mum.

Bianca Del Rio is the stage name of Roy Haylock. Since winning Drag Race, he has completed four solo stand-up tours to sold-out audiences around the world, starred in two feature films (Hurricane Bianca and Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate) which are now available on Netflix, and has written his first book - Blame It On Bianca Del Rio: The Expert on Nothing With an Opinion on Everything.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of 16-year-old Jamie New who lives on a council estate but doesn’t quite fit in.

Supported by his loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

The show features songs by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, and book and lyrics by writer Tom MacRae.

The musical was first due to come to the Empire in June 2020, and then it was rescheduled for October 23-27 this year.

Now it will run at the theatre from November 23-27 2021. Tickets are available from the website HERE.
