Waitress to serve up a great night out at Liverpool Empire

Liverpool musicals fans are being promised a pie-fect evening at the theatre with West End and Broadway smash hit Waitress on the menu at the Empire next year.

The irresistible stage version of the 2007 film comedy comes to the theatre from May 31 to June 5.

Tickets go on general sale tomorrow.

Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker who dreams of some happiness in her life.

When a hot new doctor arrives in town, life gets complicated. With the support of her workmates Becky and Dawn, Jenna overcomes the challenges she faces and finds that laughter, love and friendship can provide the perfect recipe.

Music is by the Grammy award-winning Sara Bareilles (Love Song, Brave), the book by screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and Tony® Award-winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Finding Neverland) directs.

Casting is yet to be announced.
