Casting announced for new Jonathan Harvey play at Liverpool Everyman
The first wave of casting for Jonathan Harvey’s Our Lady of Blundellsands – receiving its world premiere at the Everyman in March – has been revealed.
The play, which had its first reading at the Everyword festival back in 2016, will be directed by Everyman and Playhouse associate director Nick Bagnall.
Olivier Award nominated Annette Badland will play Garnet, the weary sister of troubled central character Sylvie Domingo.
Badland, who last appeared at the Everyman in Alan Bleasdale’s No More Sitting on the Old School Bench in 1979, is known to audiences for TV roles in shows including Bergerac, Trouble and Strife, Holding On, Cutting It and as Babe Smith in EastEnders.
She will be joined on the Hope Street stage by Liverpool actors Tony Maudsley, Nathan McMullen and Gemma Brodrick.
Meanwhile Matt Henry – who won the best actor in a musical Olivier in 2016 for playing Lola in Kinky Boots – will also be part of the Our Lady of Blundellsands team.
More casting is yet to be announced including the role of Sylvie, whose fantasy world unravels around her.
The production opens at the Everyman on March 7. Tickets are on sale from Thursday on the website HERE
