Secret Winter Garden comes to Croxteth Hall

Croxteth Hall and its grounds have been turned in to a magical Secret Winter Garden.

But you’ll have to hurry if you want to experience the Lantern Company transformation of the North Liverpool site – because the magic is only lasting for 10 days.

Venture through a long-forgotten doorway to discover The Secret Winter Garden. Uncover a glowing trail full of giant surprises, hidden pathways, amazing creatures and enchanting characters.

Discover time-travelling giant botanists, flying flamingo puppets, a mini lantern village, glowing glasshouses, alchemical eggs and dreams growing in trees.

And experience the garden of stars, colour changing plants, magic beans, singing gramophones, luminescent insects, light-emitting flowers, giant lantern toads and other incredible light up lantern creatures.

Visitors to the Croxteth attraction will also be able to take part in Lantern Company workshops to create their own mini lantern or tree decoration and browse a twilight market offering unique handmade Christmas gifts, along with festive food and drink.

Lantern Company artistic director Jo Pocock said: "We’re so excited to announce our new event here in Liverpool - The Secret Winter Garden, at the beautiful Croxteth Hall and Country Park.

“It’s for audiences of all ages, and the gardens will be aglow with astonishing sights and enchanting sounds… a luminous adventure full of surprises.”

The Secret Winter Garden at Croxteth Hall runs from December 13-22, from 4.30pm-9pm each evening with last entries at 7.30pm. Tickets from www.lanterncompany.co.uk
