Cirque du Soleil brings Ovo to Echo Arena Liverpool

Cirque du Soleil is returning to Liverpool to present its smash hit show OVO here for the first time.

Tickets for the shows at the Echo Arena, opening this Thursday, cost from £45.50 for adults and from £34.50 for children.

Fifty performers from 17 countries will present the spectacular which was first staged in Montreal, the home of Cirque du Soleil, in 2009.

They include British gymnast Alanna Baker, playing the Black Spider, who was crowned gymnastics European Champion in 2011 and won Bronze in the World Championships in 2012.

She saw her first Cirque du Soleil show when she was eight, and her parents took her to the Royal Albert Hall. Now she has travelled the world with OVO as a performer herself.

OVO, which means egg in Portuguese, is describe as “a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement”.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are curious. And it’s love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

OVO is at the Echo Arena from August 16-19 2018. Tickets from the website HERE
