Peter Kay cancels Liverpool Echo Arena shows

Peter Kay has cancelled his come-back UK tour, including a slew of shows at the Echo Arena.

The Bolton funnyman was due to perform his first live stand-up in almost a decade.

But now he has announced he is cancelling the entire tour - as well as his Dance For Life shows next March - due to family reasons.

A statement from Kay said: "Due to unforseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all my upcoming work projects. This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance For Life shows and any outstanding work commitments.

"My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my family must always come first.

The 44-year-old Farnworth-born star’s last tour was in 2010, and that still officially holds a Guinness World Record for being the biggest-selling comedy tour of all time, playing to more than 1.2 million people.
