Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival adds seasonal sparkle

The days are getting colder, the nights are drawing in – and the Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival is preparing to add a little sparkle to the winter season.

The festival, which is now open, has taken over the Pier Head with the UK’s only Ice Jet slide, ferris wheel, Christmas stalls and an ice rink that is a third bigger than last year.

Plus an extra lane has been added to the 30m ice slide run, allowing more racers to enjoy an icy, high-speed thrill.

There is also a return for the popular Ice Bar which this year has an enchanted Arctic forest theme (pictured above), ice sculptures, and the bar, tables and chairs carved from real ice. Meanwhile visitors to the Après Lounge will be able to warm up with a mulled wine or hot chocolate, and which features DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.

And people will also be able to enjoy shopping at a new traditional Christmas market with three German-style bars and pop-up festival food stalls serving up seasonal specialities.

Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival runs until January 7. Ticket details for the skating rink and ice slide on the website HERE
