Join Liverpool's busking bonanza this Bank Holiday

Liverpool’s most talented street musicians are being called on to perform next weekend as part of the city’s Without Walls initiative.

Life in Theatre Productions has been commissioned to stage Bev’s Busking Bonanza in Williamson Square on Saturday, August 29.

Everyone who performs during the afternoon celebration of live music will receive a £50 fee.

Life in Theatre Productions’ Stephen Fletcher explains: “Anyone who’s ever walked through town will know that buskers are a major part of our city’s soundtrack.

“For those of us who were here during lockdown, the silence in the streets was deafening.

“We need to bring the music back to the city, support our local creative industry and get town buzzing again. And what better way to do that than to fill it with some of our best local musicians...and guarantee them a few quid?!“

Organisers are looking for 20 buskers to take part. Each act will be asked to perform a 10-minute spot on a pop-up outdoor stage.

The event is hosted by lockdown’s comedy creation #ThisisOurBev and is funded through Culture Liverpool’s Without Walls project in association with the Arts Council.

Anyone who is interested in taking part should send a short sample of them performing to lifeintheatre@gmail.com or search Life in Theatre Productions on Facebook for more information.
