Joker Live in Concert at Philharmonic Hall

Oscar-winning psychological thriller Joker will be screened with a live orchestral accompaniment in a concert in Liverpool next spring.

Joker Live in Concert is due to take place at the Philharmonic Hall on Sunday, March 7.

It has been rescheduled from its original date later this month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Senbla Concert Orchestra will play composer Hildur Guðnadóttir’s haunting, melancholic music, which won an Academy Award for best original score, and which will provide what is being described as “a vivid, visceral and entirely new Joker viewing experience”.

Director Todd Phillips’ acclaimed film features a multi award-winning central performance from Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, an impoverished aspiring stand-up comedian who has been spurned by society and whose mental health and history of abuse lead him to become a dark and violent murderer.

The film has a 15 certificate.
