Unity Theatre launches supporting artists programme

Liverpool’s Unity Theatre has launched an Artist Emergency Response Programme to help creatives affected by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Building A Future was designed after consultation with 30 artists and performers about what would help them at the current point in time and in the futire.

It aims to fashion a supportive future helping artists develop and share their career skills, networks and knowledge.

A statement on the Unity’s website explains: “Talent Development is a significant part of the Unity programme. We pride ourselves on the fact that the opportunities we offer creatives are formed in consultation with working artists and those trying to work in the arts.”

Theatre bosses are set to run three separate programmes, each with several different events within them.

Not One Way has nine events hosted by guest speakers who will talk through their careers.

Building a Business features five practical seminars on skills to make your artistic practice into a sustainable and liveable business.

And The Creative Collective will have a monthly networking session for creatives in your field.

Dates and free tickets for all events go on sale early next week.
