Maureen Nolan joins St Helens Easter panto cast

Maureen Nolan is promising St Helens audiences a wicked Easter.

The singer and actress is set to play baddie Baroness von Vippemall in Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Theatre Royal this April.

She will join Rebecca d’Lacey as the titular porridge eating interloper who enlists the help of the Three Bears to try and save her big top from a rival circus owner.

The cast also includes Conor Barrie as The Ringmaster, Reece Sibbald as Silly Billy, and panto veteran Jamie Greer as Dame Gertie.

Maureen Nolan rose to fame in the 1970s as one of the Nolan Sisters whose hits included the floor-filler I’m in the Mood for Dancing.

Her theatre credits include playing Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers and Vi Moore in Footloose, along with Menopause the Musical, Mum’s The Word, Girls Behind and The Naked Truth.

Panto performances span 30 years from Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at the Liverpool Empire in 1990 to, most recently, the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House and at Manchester’s Middleton Arena.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is at St Helens Theatre Royal from April 8-18. Tickets HERE
