John Robins brings Hot Shame to the Epstein Theatre

Edinburgh Comedy Award winner John Robins returns to the Epstein Theatre this autumn with his new live stand-up show.

Hot Shame is the comedian and radio host’s first show since his acclaimed The Darkness of Robins and promises plenty of soul-bearing, self-lacerating, piping-hot shame.

The 36-year-old Bristolian said: “Following my commercial digital indie radio quest to rid the UK of shame, I have decided to climb the rope out of John's Shame Well to travel the country with stories of Hot Shame.

“Conveniently I already had a 44-date pub crawl in the diary, and my agents suggested I combine it with shows at regional arts centres and theatres. After some long, and, at times, quite heated discussions about remuneration, I agreed.”

Oxford graduate Robins started his comedy career in 2005 and has appeared on a host of TV shows including Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and Russell Howard’s Good News. He and fellow funnyman Elis James have hosted a radio show and podcast together since 2014.

Accolades include Best Compere at the Chortle Awards, and the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award.
