Enjoy a Feast of Fire at St George's Hall in 2018


Walk the Plank is returning to Liverpool for 2018 with its new Feast of Fire event.

The outdoor theatre specialist is promising seven magical nights of fire displays, performances, food, drink and live music in St John’s Gardens behind St George’s Hall over the Easter break.

Feast of Fire will take place from Friday, March 23-Sunday, March 25, and from Good Friday to Easter Monday, promising a fiery spectacle with timed with entry sessions each evening.

The first four early evening sessions, recommended for families, start from 6-7.30pm, while the later night sessions, which will have different, uniquely themed performances each evening, run from 8.30-10.30pm.

Arts organisations which are involved in the later evening sessions include Liverpool SoulFest, Movema, Pagoda Arts, Kazimier Productions, Africa Oyé, Liverpool Pride and Milapfest.

As visitors walk through the trail of burning sculptures and garden installations, a mix of fire-themed food and drinks will be available, with everything from wood-fired pizzas and toasted marshmallows to flaming cocktails and chilli hot chocolate.

Walk the Plank producer and co-founder John Wassell says: “It’s an honour to be asked to return to this amazing city as part of its 2018 programme. Walk the Plank have produced a range of outdoor events in Liverpool over the years, so it holds a special place in our hearts.”

The event is based on the tradition in Northern European countries of lighting bonfires over Holy week.

Tickets for the early evening sessions are £7 for children, £10.50 for adults and £32 for family tickets. Prices for the adult sessions are £13. Food and drink is not included.
