Sheridan Smith to sing at the Liverpool Philharmonic

Sheridan Smith is set to sing at the Philharmonic Hall as part of a 2018 UK tour.

The award-winning actress, who last appeared on stage in the city in Funny Girl at the Liverpool Empire, will perform in Hope Street on April 13.

Priority booking opens on November 2 and tickets go on general sale on November 3.

Smith, who won acclaim for her performance as Cilla in Jeff Pope’s ITV mini-series, much of which was filmed in Liverpool, has just released her debut solo album Sheridan.

The record features a selection of classic tunes and songs from films including City of Stars from Oscar-winning La La Land.

She said: “It’s been an ambition since I was a child to record my own album so I’m incredibly excited to be recording some of my favourite songs.”

The 36-year-old rose to fame as one of the cast of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps on TV, and her West End musical roles include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and Elle in Legally Blonde as well as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl.
