Strictly champs to Rip It Up at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall

They ripped up the dancefloor on Strictly Come Dancing.

And now two celebrity champions are joining forces to sprinkle some glitterball magic over the Philharmonic Hall as part of a national tour.

Gymnast Louis Smith and pop star Jay McGuiness are joining dance pro Natalie Lowe in Rip It Up, which comes to Hope Street tonight.

The trio are set to ‘swing, bop, jitterbug, lindy hop, ballroom and jive’ their way around the Phil’s stage, accompanied by musicians, dancers and singers as they take their audience back to the 1950s.

The irresistible soundtrack to the evening includes classics like Unforgettable, Wonderful World, Fly Me to the Moon, That’ll Be the Day, Hound Dog and C’Mon Everybody.

Louis Smith won the glitterball trophy with partner Flavia Cacace in 2012, and Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani took the Strictly crown in 2015.

Fans will remember Louis and Flavia reprising THAT dance from Dirty Dancing, while Jay and Aliona stunned viewers with their Pulp Fiction jive.

Rip It Up is at the Philharmonic Hall on October 10. Tickets from the website HERE.
