Ria Jones has been confirmed to continue playing Norman Desmond in Sunset Boulevard when it comes to Liverpool next year.
Meanwhile former Hollyoaks hunk, and Strictly finalist, Danny Mac, is set to star as impoverished Joe Gillis in the touring production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
The show comes to the Empire from February 19-24.
Ria Jones first took on the role of Norma Desmond in London last year when Glenn Close fell ill. And despite members of the audience at the Coliseum being vocally upset that the Hollywood star could not appear, Welsh understudy Jones was given a rapturous standing ovation for her performance.
Danny Mac has recently appeared in On The Town at Regent Park Theatre.
Sunset Boulevard tells the story of faded screen goddess Norma Desmond, who lives in a fantasy world, one in to which Joe McGillis stumbles while on the run from debt collectors.
Persuaded to work on a film ‘masterpiece’ she believes will bring her fame and fortune once again, Joe becomes trapped in Norma’s claustrophobic world – until his love for another woman leads him to try and break free.
